Hey all, I've followed the instruction and successfully unlocked my W580. The problem is that when I used XS++ to flash the Main, FS and the customized file, the phone became locked again (I got it from Rogers and I cant use the FIDO in it). Is there a way to fix this problem? Once I unlock the phone, the MP3 ringtone is still locked so i have to Flash the phone with Main, FS and customized file.....

First flash your phone , then unlock it. Because everytime , when you flash your phone , it will be locked again.

Ok, so since I unlock then flash, thus my phone is now locked... So what i did, I reunlock my phone again (since i think unlock, flash, unlock = flash unlock ), then crap happened, i think I bricked it. Now it won't even turn on...How should I save it? reunlock it again? or recover it with the GDFS file that i got before?

PSS: Ok, as it turns out, I don't think the phone is bricked, luckily...Here is what it all happened....
I began follow the "remove Sim Lock" tutorial, unlocked the phone with that superb guide *thanks to the author* then I use XS++ to flash the Main, FS and custom files. I got myself a phone with network 10 but every other things 5 =(. Later I was told that I should Flash my phone first (flash with Setool2 or XS++?) then unlock it. So being one smartass, I thought since I flashed the phone with XS++, that means the phone now should be done with the Flashing Procedure. Then I proceed on reunlocking the phone again, which follow the tutorial for DC2020 CID 52 procedure. That is when I encountered a "brick-like" situation... =( Luckily now I went back to XS++ and reflash the phone with Main, FS and custom files, the phone back on the network 10, others 5 status... My question now is that: What should I do now to be able to have the network 10 unlocked to 5? Do i try and unlock the phone again with the DC2020 CID 52 procedure? or I actually can short-cut some procedure since I alrdy Unlock the phone before + i have alrdy done flashing main firmware....
I would super appreciated on the help...

If you enter wrong unlock codes, those numbers will decrement one by one, and finally your phone will lock for good. So, better don't touch them ;)Quote:

Since you reflashed the MAIN firmware, all patches are gone, so you need to unlock the phone again, following the whole unlocking procedure.Quote:

I didnt try to unlock the network with the code, I'm saying network 10 to show that its locked =(.
I tried the whole unlock procedure again but that will turn my phone into a "brick-like" status (By "brick-like" status i mean: If you try to turn on the phone, it only vibrate once whenever you press the power button, the screen won't turn on, its like the phone is dead, or battery dead but its not). I solve that problem by Using XS++ again to flash the Main, FS and Cust files, which will just simply make my phone to what it was before...(by before i mean: Unlocked then flashed phone, thus network 10 and all others 5, unable to use other phone comp's Sim card). And that will just simply lead my current question to "how do I flash my phone, then unlock the phone?"

PS: I forgot to mention this, throughout the lately Unlocking procedure, a prompt came up saying "some data differs, do you wish to continue", i always click yes. I analyze the script and found out something regarding block. "block selected ok. Reading blocks :2" something like that...
You have wrong unlock patch or your patch have conflict with QuickAccess patch
Like seamonkey alredy pointed out probably the unlock patch isn't good for current MAIN firmware. I think we can exclude the patch conflict in this case. Make a new unlock patch using the MAIN firmware you just flashed, and apply that.Quote:

Ok, ill try that, but is it from the Qamaker or the RemoveSimLock Gen? Also its "Some Block value differs, would you like to continue", not "some data differs"...
The best thing is to make both (QA & removeSIMlock) with MAIN (.mbn used for flashing)
Can I get a lil help on how to restore the GDFS file generated from Setool2? I kinda want the phone to go back to where it was before when i first got it... wanna just unlock it without touching the mainfirmware and so on, thanks guys, i cant find a guide on that =(
Restore the GDFS: select the phone type, press the ...(three dots) button next to Misc files box, select the GDFS backup and press the Write GDFS button.
Then reflash the MAIN firmware, and follow the unlocking guide step by step(DO NOT skip any step).
Something bad happend. I followed your "restore the GDFS" procedure, and when its writing the GDFS back (I quadruple checked and its the right file for the phone), it says "Failed, this is fatal" message at the end... So i guess it didnt write through with the GDFS. So right now Im gonna reflash the main, FS and custom file with XS++ then reunlock the phone with "Remove Sim lock" tutorial and see if all these will revive the phone...
Am i doing something wrong here? why won't the phone be recovered with the original GDFS file created by Setool2?

Above is what happened when i tried the "Remove Sim Lock“ procedure after writing GDFS failed...Weird thing happened, it didnt ask me to click yes to remove patch or no to apply it...So i guess theres something wrong.

Only QA patch goes thrue Bypass DB2020, all other patches goes thrue quick access in Setool2lite (unmark bypass and mark quick access) if you install QA patch
Is your phone working right now? If yes, then follow carefully the whole unlocking procedure step by step. If the phone isn't works, then reflash the MAIN firmware, and then try to restore the GDFS.
Ok, so for reflashing the Main Firmware, first click quick access, then "add" the main firmware, then click on flash? or should I do that with XS++? or how do i reflash the main firmware?

2 things happened: First, it happened again, its asking me some block value differs, do I wish to continue, if i click yes, and apparently they will overwrite the block value. That will just make my phone not able to turn on. If i skip that by clicking "no", it will skip the block value writing part. But the problem is that I won't be able to do the final part of the Remove Sim Lock procedure. The Remove_Sim_lockXXXXX.vkp simply wont work, like the following:

At the very beginning, after i did the Remove_sim lock procedure (didnt turn on to check if it works, still got that "block value differ" thing came up), i used XS++ and flashed the main, FS and custom.
So am i using the correct mainfirmware? I believe I am but why it kept on poping out with that "block value differs, do you wish to continue" whenever i try to quick_access the vkp of it?
First find wright CUSTPACK - HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_105_R8A_GENERIC_TAIWAN and use that MAIN to make QuickAccess patch again with gamaker.exe

You can use that MAIN,infact if you use that main and FS you need that custpack which I mentioned earlyer,because if you want flash phone wright you need all 3 files - MAIN,FS and CUSTPACK

I got that file now (I appreciate that) so just wondering if you can give me a detail instruction regarding how to Make a QuickAccess patch from HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_105_R8A_GENERIC_TAIWAN and what should I further do regarding about my current problem. Also, can you detailly teach me how to flash the phone with Main, FS and cust pack using SEtool2? i know how to use XS++ but since we are dealing with SEtool2 with "Remove_Sim_lock" procedure, i think it will be better if i flash the phone using SEtool2.Quote:

that way you can use flash menus and patch your phone and use elfs.......
I just flashed and unlocked my phone as well. I used SIMLockPatchGen 2,
SETOOL2LITE (v1.11), and XS++ (v3.1).
