Unlocking k800i with phone xs

Hello guys, great forum. Cannot believe you can do this much with sony ericsson phones. Cant wait to all this crazy stuff with my new k800i.

First thing i want to try out is unlocking my k800i from O2 network.Want to use my vodafone sim card in it.

I downloaded the software Phone XS++ V1.5 and got some information about my phone on it. The phone is a k800 (db2020 CID53)

Q1 .By flashing my phone will that unlock the phone from O2 network.

This is the other information phone XS gave me:

You can't unlock your phone for free,because he is CID53 and for unlock your only option is some payed service like Top Sony - Buy Ultimate Unlocker LOGs

ok, so he cant unlock it... but what about mine? Aint Cid53...
Mine has a vodafone lock on it, can it be removed via flashing? and how?

there rumour that CID can be flashed by using JDFlasher and some other add ons. like i said, its a rumour and im not willing to vouch my life on that rumour. google around and if you see anything on it.

Help i've tried several of the tutorials but region on phone still says orange (see below)

What am i doing wrong any ideas? i've tried chaning firmware and using XS++ and setool lite with the simlock patch gen, still when i put the vodaphone sim in it says 'insert correct sim'

Any help would be appreciated

What firmware files you used for flashing

K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn

doesn't seem to change anything!

But for debrand you must do full flash (MAIN,FS and CUSTPACK),so you need except that MAIN (.mbn) FS - one like this K800_R8BF003_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52 ,but that depend on what language you need (read here Top Sony - Languages Description ) and CUSTPACK ( must be same region like FS - EUROPE_2 ) and after flashing follow this tutorial for patch unlock - Remove SIM-lock patch generator - Top Sony Forums

That's great info now where can i get the FS file and custom pack for English from? I get nothing searching for that. Btw i really appreciate your help i could be in for some major loving from the wife if i can sort this for her

If i use these two

K800_R8BF003_FS_CENT_EUROPE_RED52.fbn
K800_R8BF003_MAIN_GENERIC_WI_RED52.mbn

and custom pack from drop down in XS++ Europe 2 will that work?

You can find FS and CUSTPACK here in download section-firmware and custom files and for access read this How to get access to Download Area? - Top Sony Forums And all generic FS have English,but you can use Europe 2


But with that FS find CENT_EUROPE custpack

Ermm how do i use a custom config pack, i assume i use "own custompack" where do i put the files i downloaded from the download section "HB1-06_Generic_CDA102568_2_R4A_GENERIC_CENT_EUROPE"

hmm all i have not is a message on the screen saying with vodaphone SIM 'incorrect sim"

With the original orange sim i get "configuration error, please contact your network operator"

You didn't finish flashing-unzip custpack and folder /tpa/ put in XS++ folder /own_custpack/ and upload to phone

It doesn't mention anything about custom pack do i do that after following all the instructions in the link you provided?

yes, you didn't finalize your phone flashing, like sea monkey said
