W580 Left Soft Key Stopped Working

I have a one year old W580. Today at school, the left soft key, including the back key was working fine. Then after school, I tried unlocking my phone and it didn't work. Turns out the left soft key, including the back key, stopped responding. What can I do to fix it?

I tried removing the batter and putting it back in, and the keys still don't work. I also turned it on and off a couple of times. I only dropped my phone like 4 times within the phone's lifetime, so I'm sure that can't be the problem. I didn't drop it today either.

In standby just go with this >*<<*<* and you will get service menu,go to keyboard and test your keys

It's called "Bonzer Flex"...that's not working...You have got to replace it. Go to any Sony service centre..

Other keys might not work as well in the days to come..

I bet your shake function doesn't work either...

Well the left soft key works sometimes. Half the time there's response, other half there isn't. I could lightly smack the phone and the left soft key function will temporarily work.

If I get a bonzer flex fix, is there a way to fix it myself? I've never disassembled a phone before besides replacing the battery, inserting sim card, that type of thing. If all else fails, I'm just going to get a G705.

Err, I did a quick search for Bonzer flex on Ebay. I can't seem to find the part? And I think I 100% killed the left soft key now.

Oh, and is there a way to replace the keypad light? The light at the * doesn't go off when I slide my phone open.

search w580 keypad membrane flex on ebay you should be able to find it.

Out of all the parts here, which one do I buy to fix my problem? I'm gonna see how much it is to DIY and how much it would be to do it in a store in Pacific Mall.

Is it hard to DIY?

So I found out that it'll cost me at least $45 if I do it in a store. I was told that this is a PCB problem so it can only be fixed by sending it back to SE, while other stores say that they can do it hands on in the shop.

Also, I'd like to add that even if I press the key down VERY HARD, there's still no response. Plus, the key pops up when I press on the edge of the left soft key. And if I press up on the D-pad, sometimes there's no response as well. Does this mean that the key is wearing out?

Anyone please? The problem's getting more and more serious.

yeah my left soft key, back button, and sometimes the right button and the shortcut button doenst work either. any help?

I have this problem happening to me now, and my phone is G705!
My direction button and everything on the upper keypad is not working except the power button(end call button). Any one is able to assist? I know I have to find the direction small board, but the screws are not the normal 4 edge or single line! there's six-edge to it. Anyone has any idea?
