w880i - unlock problems

Hello there

here's the deal.

I have w880i locked on the Vodafone NL network.

I have flashed the phone to CID52 and flashed the MAIN.

with that MAIN file, i created the quick access thing, but when i add it to the phone, it ends with this error

"Block @ $44700000 read error. Have only: 00000000 bytes" or something similar.

what is causing this problem?
i generated the unlock code thing with that same main file and when i try to add it i get a similar error.

Seems like the memory is full?? or is there something i'm doing wrong?

The "phone lock" and "SIM lock" isn't the same thing...
The phone lock is a password(PIN code) what you set to protect the phone from others. The SIM lock is to prevent to use other SIM card than a specific provider's.

So, connect your phone to XS++, click on gdfs radio button, then click on read user lock codes. Then you will get the phone lock code: 0000ffff if your PIN is 0000, or 1584ffff if your PIN is 1584 etc.

Probably you made something wrong. Make sure you use the SEtool2 Lite v1.11, and follow one of unlocking guides.

you are not applying patch correnctly
possible for you to press write script instead of pressing flash and bypass db2020 security

so add main, add patch to misc and press FLASH, bypassing db2020 security

Any ideas how i can UN-BRICK my phone?

Problems:
- Phone doesn't start when pressing on button. ( C )
- Phone doesn't start charging when charger attached.
- Phone doesn't get recognized by SeTool2 lite 1.11 or XS++

a.k.a phone does NOTHING.

i tried:
- Removing battery ( 25 minutes )
- Charging the battery
- Re-flashing but since it isn't being recognized...

When you want to turn on the phone, do you see a red blinking light near infra port? If yes, then can be due to discharged battery(in this case fully recharge the battery using other phone), or can be a dead EROM. In this case check this guide: REPAIRING EROM GUIDES for most sonyericsson phones

There is nothing wrong with db2020 security bypass if you use it properly, otherwise...you see the result...

When you repaired your phone, then use one of unlocking guides. Here is mine: Remove SIM-lock patch generator. Follow it carefully

for some bad-ass reason, my phone responds to SeTools2 Lite and XS++ again.

SeTools tells me this error:

bad EROM?

Try to reflash your phone(MAIN, FS, custom pack). If it doesn't works, try to restore the GDFS backup what you made before unlocking attempt(you made a backup don't you?)
The EROM is working, otherwise you cannot connect your phone when you press C key on phone.

btw, add the info that you need to press 2 on w880i's ( don't know about other one's )

because C is the button to turn on the phone.

Okay that worked. Phone is turning on again.

Now, i followed that instructions of you but they always gave me the :

"Block @ $44700000 read error. Have only: 00000000 bytes" error's ( different try )

It's right, you need to press 2 insted of C on W880 phones. So when the guide or program sais to press C, you need to press the 2 key.
Have you ticked the db2020 security bypass? If you followed step by step the the guide, then I have no clue what's wrong.

You can try the jdflasher, instead of SETool2 Lite.

i'm gonna get jdflasher. I have searched the error trough google and as I have seem for the results, it is a unfixed bug?

It is strange. Have you put the Remove_SIM_lock_W880_xxxxxxx.vkp, or just the quick access?

Both are installed.

I really have no clue what the heck is wrong with it:confused: The only thing I can suggest you is to reflash the MAIN, and start the whole procedure again...

By the way, when you put another SIM card what message do you get?

I have the same problem you had before with de read error etc. how did you finally manage to unsimlock it? I still have the little lock thing in the hidden menu..
did you use jdflasher?

Do you use the XS++ v3.1? You can try with SEtool2 Lite as well(Unlock/Repair button).

omg that worked...

now it says Configuration error, please contact etc.

well actually this is not a big deal you just have to finish the process, jyst flash it again with main file and custom pack (cda)

I have the same phone (W880i), installing qa patch with DB2020 security is ok, but when I try to use quick access to load the Remove_sim_lock patch I have the f**** "embedded flashloader not responds" problem....

someone can help me please..? I have spent hours on that thing...!

Digitalism:
You need to customize your phone(upload an custom pack). In download area you will find it: Ai_i_CDA102719_85_R5A_Vodafone_NL_Netherlands. A generic custom pack would be better(if you want to debrand the phone), but the EUROPE_3 is missing.

For some reason SETool2 Lite doesn't works well with some phones. The workaround is to use jdflasher instead of SEtool2 Lite. This will solve your problem.

at some point i just reflashed the the phone (MAIN & FS) but then it told me to enter the correct simcard...

wth?

You need to upload the custom pack as well. Otherwise you will get the configuration error.

This is SE's way to tell you that your phone is SIM-locked. Unlock it by patch(again)...

I uploaded the custom pack using xs++ ( latest version after all )

and now my phone is working perfectly.

and custpacket:
HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_122_R1A_GENERIC_EUROPE_4.

But now i got an problem! when i reflashed it, i started the phone, and i get the same message as Digitalism
"Phone code:"
and then it wants me to enter a phone code. I did go to XS++ and then connected the phone, i press GDFS and then "Phone Lock".
The thing is proccesing ,and when its done, i unplug the phone, i start it, i enter lock code: 0000, and then i get the message "Configuration error, please contact etc".
Please please help me,

Hi. I think you need a program called phonelockcode. Do a web search and you should be able to find it. once attached it will read the code to you. Hope this helps

your phone need just to be finalized, upload the custpack with setool lite or just finalize with xs++

well, i fixed that problem, i did not name the "custom file" right, but i fixed that. then i started the phone, and it asked me for phone lock again, i entered 0000 and it worked, and when the phone started, it does not have any network, it just stands "SIM Inactiv," i tryed 3 different SIM-cards, and its all the same, what should i do? when i make >* <<* <* and then I see that the phone is unlocked, all the numbers are at 5 and the yelow LOCK is unlocked, so it is unlocked right? i am not sure about the custom pack, i dont know witch one to chose and what it is for, i live in sweden and i use network Tele2/Comviq. please help me so my phone can work normal, thx alot!
