Ripped Off :(
First of all i want to say i really like yall forums, This is my first post and unfortunately i need your help. I purchased this Sony Ericsson W810i from some asian guy as he was walking out of a tmobile store, he had a brand new sidekick in his hand and offered me his w810i for 30 bucks i took it and now i cant use it, it says enter unlock code? how can i get this code?
-
I'm sorry mate but i must LOL
30 bucks being in what denomination?
Anyway give us more details, does it say enter unlock code when you start it ? That might be a PIN code. Or is it when you put ina SIM or something?
I think since its a W810 we can fix it for free :) unless its CID 50 :(
Anything else? Does the walkman mode work?
-
when i power it on it goes to start-up menu and it has 2 choices: Start Phone & Music Only, when i select "start phone" a little white screen with a lock on it that says "phone lock code:" appears and above it says Phone Locked.
anything else u need to know?
the phone seems like its in working order nothing wrong with it physically except some cosmetic scratches. So did i get ripped off or is this phone worth my hard earned 30 US dollars?
-
Nope mate you dint :)
I think the asian most probably forgot to tell you that the phone had a PIN Code request on.
Anyway since one asian ripped you off this one will help yout :p
Download XS++ and connect your phone to it. Then post the log here. Will tell you what we can do after that :)
-
You need to install the USB flash drivers before you can connect the phone.
Once you've connected the phone, go to the "gdfs" tab and click on "phone lock".
-
so i need to buy a cable??? all he gave me was the phone and home charger.
-
Yeah, your gonna need a usb cable. The cheapest option would be to hit up ebay and search for the usb cable for your model.
Once you have that it should be a simple fix with xs++.
-
alright just purchased 1 on ebay for like 3 bucks
-
cool matey, just follow justme instructions and if you have doubts post the log before continuing
