I can't seem to find a copy of setool anywhere online. Can anybody link me to somewhere that has it? All the downloads I have tried are all dodgey or are incomplete rar's.

I have already tried a couple of times to flash the phone by customising it with XS++ but it does not seem to be unlocking the phone. I also looked at the Sim Lock Generator program by Simox, but as you can see from my post above, I cannot find the setool! and Simox's tutorial only shows how to do it with setool... anyone else been able to use xs++ to do it?

If your phone's CID is 52 you can unlock it free using AERIX other wise you have to pay and program to be used is D-ultimate unlocker

noob sucessfully unlocked an old Z610i from 3 network in oz

the se2 tool unlock guide worked perfectly as long as the guide is followed exactly. i mean step by step and understand what is being described. read a little ahead to get the idea of what is going on. I was able to sucessfuly unlock a z610i :-) the only step i was uncertain of was what was the "main" file. It can be downloaded in the firmware section of top sony downloads (registration required) make sure the correct firmware main is used for your fone. i used the generic firmware main file. the unlock creator needs the main file to be extracted from the archive. the fone must never again be updated with the official se update or the unlock is lost. remember to disable any kind of auto firmware update on your shiny new usefull fone.

Unlocking DB2020 CID53 for FREE requires a sim card that the phone is locked to. If you have such a sim card and you can open the phone then you need to follow the Anycid procedure and use executor to break in, add the qapatch and unlock patch.

If you have no such sim card then I'm afraid it's a paid unlock only.

EDIT: You said you managed to apply some patches. I'd like to know how if you're asking if you can do it with XS?? Patching DB2020 CID53 can only be done with JDFlasher.

I applied patches before upgrading to CID53 ... after doing my stuff I figured SEUS could not do harm if I used it , but it was bad ...

I have a SIM card to open the phone and use files/etc ...
i'm going to try and use the anycid procedure ... it seems pretty hard though :( i hope i don't brick my phone ...

Yes, I'm afraid in modding terms, using SEUS on on a CID52 DB2020 is a bad idea. It will always update the CID to 53.

The anycid procedure is simple enough provided you follow it carefully. Make sure you flash a firmware that there is an executor.b file for.

No. Patch unlock on A2 makes no sense as patch needs to be written to cxc which needs brown anyway!!! There is NO FREE method to unlock A2 phones.

DB2010/12: These phones can be patched up to CID49. There's no free solution for patching those phones if the CID is higher than CID49. CID can't be downgraded!

DB2020: These phones can only be patched if the CID is 52. You can upgrade to CID52 if necessary.

DB3150: These phones can't be patched for free yet (in fact they can't even be flashed for free at the moment).


You can create an unlocking patch with simox "Remove sim-lock patch generator".
