Hmmm, running into some small problems. I'm using XS++ 3.1 with the following files:
W810_R4EK001_FS_AMERICA_2_RED49.fbn
W810_R4EK001_MAIN_GENERIC_HN_RED49.mbn
W810_CDA102555_15_R2A_Generic_AMERICA_1 (customization pack)
After flashing/unbranding, my phone turns on okay but when I use your SimLockPatchGen on the R4EK001 Main and flash the script with SETool2, the phone won't turn on. I have to reflash the main the XS++. But do I lose the patch I just flashed?
Yes you will lost patch so - use Setool2lite and put Main + .vkp like on first page this sectionQuote:

THANK YOU, worked like a charm! Maybe you should put that in the first page as part of the flashing instructions, I don't think it's that clear to ppl like me that have never used SETool2 before. Just to clarify something though, if I were to update camera or sound drivers using FAR Manager + SEFP, I have to reflash the Main so I will lose all patches and have to reapply, am I correct?Quote:

It is correct what you wrote, BUT if you make a rest file for SEFP (*), then you can flash that instead of entire MAIN, and you will not loose any patch.Quote:

* - in [SEFP folder]\rest\ folder there is a mkrest.exe(or something like that). With that tool you can make a rest file for SEFP.

Note: Apparently XS++ will never finish the rest file flashing. When it flashed 4 blocks(I think), or wait about 30 seconds (it should be more than enough), then stop the flashing operation. XS++ will give you a warning message, but just ignore it, it is completely safe in this situation.

Have you installed the USB Flash Driver? If yes, then probably the EROM is damaged, so try this: REPAIRING EROM GUIDES for most sonyericsson phones
Simox: not sure if this has been mentioned here before or not (94 pages in this thread -- DAMN!), but I found a good way to check if the simlock patch works. Key in the sequence > * < < * < on your SE phone to enter the Service Info submenu. Click on SIM Lock and if the patch works, you should see Network has an "unlocked" icon and the number 5. If patch didn't work, it will have a "locked" icon and the number 10. Hope this helps others! (maybe you could add it to the 1st post too? Thanks for the update on the rest file, your tutorial is looking great)

I want to unlock sim and use thail language on my w580i. I just flash the main firmware "W580_R8BE001_MAIN_ORANGE_LA_RED52.mbn" and firmware "W580_R8BE001_FS_THAI_RED52.fbn". After finishing, I use "SIMLockPatchGen_v2.1" but it doesn't work. Sim is still locked. Coulld you please help me to fix this problem?

I'm sure you'll find all the steps you need, if you pay attention when you read @Simox first post. IDENTIFY your phone and you'll know the MAIN you must use with SIM-lock patch generator.

I have tried to unlock my phone numerous times using this method, i just cannot see what i am doing wrong. I have downloaded a main flash, from this website. This main flash is the same one i applied to my phone when i debranded it. i have created a VKP quick access patch using the QA maker. The phone connects to SETool and the program recognises it. but when i try to flash the phone doing the following steps...nothing happens
1) put VKP patch in misc files section
2) put put main firmware file (downloaded from here and the one that i used to debrand my phone) in the files section
3) enable "bypass DB2020 security"
4) choose my phone type from the drop down menu (k810)
i have reinstalled SETools and the drivers from scratch to cancel out all driver and program issues but i'm not having any luck.

@asalhan - did you try put some other network SIM in phone,because patch maybe was applyed but you will always see Network:LOCKED
@seamonkey yea i have put another providers SIM card in the phone, but all i keep getting is a message saying "Insert SIM Card" But if i put the original providers SIM card in (T-Mobile) it works fine.
everything seems to go ok. no errors...
but no patches seems to work... i added code from multiple patches in one *.vkp file.
can someone please help me. what am i doing wrong. i followed these steps:

The prog is able to identify my phone but when i want to "read GDFS"
