Or can restore other GDFS (first must read secure units from phone with script) and then can restore other GDFS (clear GDFS - user lock code is 0000).
If you cann't do that, install Team Viewer and send me PM with ID and Password.
the backup of GDFS was made when I already had this problem, is that important?
Are you suggesting that I should edit the backup GDFS so that the usercode is 0000 and then restore it using XS+++?
I really wouldn't know how to begin doing this.
If you're offering to do it for me, would it be easy for me to send you the backed up GDFS to edit or is it not that simple?
thanks

If you made the GDFS backup before setting up the user lock code, restoring the GDFS should solve your problem.
Re: W300i - probably a unique problem
Thanks, the GDFS backup was made after this problem, I'd never been near any sort of phone modifying software until recently so restoring the GDFS will not help me.
Re: W300i - probably a unique problem
Unfortunately, I think there's no free solution for your problem.

In the instructions to restore GDFS write it's for db2010 and db2020, maybe you wrong?

Even if I'm wrong (but I don't think so) this method won't work because you "read secure units from (user code locked) phone with script"
Re: W300i - probably a unique problem
I've bought a 2nd hand w910i from eBay to take travelling so the practical need for a solution here has gone
However, having spent so much time fussing with it I'd still like to see if I can resolve it, even if attempts end up ruining the phone for good. It's 4 years old and has a faulty keypad so it's probably worthless anyway.
I would require a bit of handholding as I'm not a hacker/code writer/unlocker so appreciate your patience.
BTW the sound quality on the w910i Walkman is :a015 I feel like I've got a brand new pair of ears!
Re: W300i - probably a unique problem
I sold the faulty W300i on eBay for £5. The buyer was delighted with it so he must have found some use for it.
The W910i I bought for £3.20 was a bit scruffy but worked fine and when I got home I sold it for £18!
strange times.
