I would like to Unlcok the W580i.
here is the thing what happend with my phone,
i got it from Rogers, and i unlocked it by paying some amount.
Then i want to debrand it, so i searched in net, got this setool2 and falshed it.
I have my SIM in the phone itself, while flashing.
it did well, then i started again, its ask me to choose
which mode do you want, Normal mode or Flight mode, then choose any mode, its say "insert correct sim".
I think its again locked.
So now i want to unlock by myself instead of paying money. Could you guys please help me what to do, where to start, with full instructions will help great to me.
How to generate .VKP file by using Setool2V1.1.11, it says drag .mbn file in to qamaker folder, but from do u get this .mbn file itself. even after getting it, if i drop .mbn file into qamaker folder, will it generate automatically .vkp file

You cannot flash another GDFS to your phone, and the IMEI cannot be changed by hand. You can try to repair your GDFS with SEMCTool v8.7 cracked, but use it at your own risk: SemcTool v8.7 Cracked

Check out the first post of this thread, and read the tutorial(the DB2020 part). You said that you debranded the phone, so you must have the MAIN firmware. Follow the tutorial carefully, and do not skip anything, because there aren't pointless steps.

First I had unlocked it by paying the money, after debranding its not recognizing my SIM card.
So i'm confused whether the MAIN firmware file which i have is correct one or old. because i did only debranding, it should lock it back right.

hi there, when i try and use the patch maker it says that it is not a valid firmware. is it because it is a .bin file.
thats the file i used to flash/rebrand my fone so i thought it would be fine.
its a w880 if thats relevant.

If the phone start up automatically, then it is a DRIVER PROBLEM. Probably you have an older driver installed. You need to install the driver what comes with SETool2 Lite v1.11, and located in [SETool1.11_folder]\drivers\USBFlash_driver\ folder.

That firmware is an encrypted one, that's why it isn't works. Download a 'normal'(BABE) firmware, and try again.

Hi - I'm new to this site and these forums and I've just got a few questions before I begin to try to unlock my phone.
I've got a SE k550i locked into T-Mobile (in the UK). It was CID 51, but I upgraded it to CID 52 using XS++.
I'm following this guide and I'm at the stage where i need to generate a quick-access patch from a MAIN (.mbn) file. My phone's firmware is currently R1JD001 but I can't find a MAIN file of that version.
Would it be safe to use another firmware for the k550i (R8BA024) that i got from here here and then follow the rest of the guide using that firmware? If it isn't a good idea, could somebody point me to the file i need (k550_R1JD001) because I've had a look around and i can't find one anywhere.
I also saw something on page 20 of this thread about a guy in a similar situation, and simox posted a solution, but i didn't understand it...
If anyone could help I'd be really grateful!

Thank you - it all went swimmingly and now i'm looking at an unlocked k550i!
Just one thing - in step I.7 in your guide it just says "follow instructions by SETool", and when setool instructed me to remove the cable and battery, i sat here for a few minutes wondering whether it conflicted with your advice: "DO NOT remove the CABLE"
Eventually i did as setool asked, and it went fine from there. There's nothing wrong with your guide, i just feel that it could be a tad more explicit in that instance - just so people like me are less worried!

Oh after successfully doing your method on first page, my phone remains locked (locked to Virgin). I have tried other carrier but it will not work. What does this mean? How can icheck if it's really unlocked and when i called the carrier up they said u need to unlock it by giving them the IMEI (but fees apply)

I have an S500i locked to the virgin network. I have tried to use the Setool V1.1 to unlock it but i cant even get past the first identification stage.
I have two sony phones one s500i and one Z550i. I have plugged both in, both while being turned off and the program still doesnt pick up that a phone has been installed.
Am i missing some drivers or something? I downloaded the setool proggie with the video instructions.
Its really frustrating me at the moment. I have no idea why it wont recognise the phones.
Windows detects them but the program does not.
The battery is in the phone and the sim is inserted. (does the sim need to be in the phone??)

THANKYOU SO SO MUCH!! I tried to rebrand my v630 to a k610 using wotan, and it relocked it to Vodaphone! Thanks to your guide and code its now unlocked again, admittedly as a w660 cos i couldn't find any k610 firmware. Thanks a million!!

Are you working on making patches for new A2 phones?
THe iother day, by mistake, I tried to gennerate a patch for a W910 Firmware, and the software didnt work.
I didnt know the W910 was A2, so I just tried, then I read it is a new platform, even if you release a version supporting this platform, do you think there could be a chance to patch it ?
mmaybe Xs++3.2 ?

You need to install the USB Flash driver: USB Flash Driver Installation - Guide.
Firsrt turn off the phone, remove the battery, wait a few minutes, then insert it back. Now click the button on program(e.g. FLASH, Write Script etc.) press and HOLD the C key on phone, and connect the cable. When you see some progress in program, release the C key.

Upgrade the EROM CID to 52 using XS++ and it will work.
OK, I didnt want to download a MAIN for making the Quixkaccess patch stuff.
SO, I got a VKP for R1JC003 and clicked Bypass CID52, then clicked on FLASH :(
All went well, and asked to patch, I said No to apply the patch, it then told me there were differences and I applied the patch anyways............. - Phone Dead -
I cant restore the GDFS Backup :(
and obviously Removing the patch wont work neither, because it replaces the different stuff from the firmweare with teh stiff in the patch, so,m there is no way to know what was written on the firmware before applying the patch...
Please tell me that if I flash MAIN and FS it will REVIVE the phone !!!

You haven't followed the guide, and now you wonder what happened???
The answer: Your phone is dead of course.
You can revive it if you reflash the MAIN firmware. Then unlock your phone by following CAREFULLY the guide, and do not skip any step because there isn't any pointless step.

I thought the quickaccess stuff was only for making life easier later for patching more stuff, so I thought I could just use the bypass mmethof, since I only need to patch this phone once for sure.
Can I use the bypass method with the MAIN firmware and only patch the phone.
I Mean, is there ANY way to apply the patch WITHOUT using the QuickAccess story ?

You can skip the quick access part, if you don't want to apply other patches in the future, otherwise I don't recommend it.
If you want to skip the quick access:
start with step II. then follow the step I. Here, instead of quick access put the "unlock" patch generated by my tool. Everything else remain unchanged(but you no need to make the quick access patch of course).
Ok, because I had a different version on the phone than the version I could find at iprotebe.cz, this what I did to Unbrick the phone:
(Used Service Cable)
Generated the quick_access Patch with qamaker.
Added both Main and FS to the list, ticked the Bypass checkbox, added the quick_access_patch generated by qa_maker on the Misc textbox, and clicked FLASH
had to wait about half an hour.
All done
Added the Unlock vkp , ticked Use QUick Access Patch, cleared both MAIN and FS from the list, unticked B?ypass db2020 ..., clicked Write Script.
This did NOT work at all using the Service Cable, I had to use the DCU11 Cable (USB Cable) for the write script using quick_access memthod to work.
After all that, because of configuration problem, just openes Xs++ and Finalized the phone.
WalkMan is now back to life.
But I still do have the same question: How can I patch_unlock, WITHOUT using the quick_access stuff, no matter how long it takes.
I think that If I add MAIN, add unlock_vkp_script, tick Bypass DB2020... and click on FLASH it Should Work, SIMOX ??
and can I patch the generated VKP for unlock, avoding the quick access, and also without having teh MAIN file ?Quote:

Ok SImox, got it, and LAST Question: If I dont have the FIrmware and I do have the vkp_unlock_patch for the firmware running on the phone, can I ? Bypass db2020, add vkp_patch too MISC anf click FLASH ? would this work ? without the FIRMWARE FILE ?
it works this way for DB2010 or db2012, I unlocked a K310i this way, only with the vkp patch, not sure here on db2020 if it would work with bypassing.. you are the master, you say...
DB2020 phones cannot be unlocked without MAIN firmware. You must add the MAIN file, otherwise it will not work. The MAIN can be other version as well. No need to be the same version as your current version.
