General Information about Patch-Unlocking


This thread gives a little overview about patch-unlocking possibilities

It should answer the questions that are asked frequently on the forum.
All the the information you need is here on the forum but many users post questions that have been answered very often before even starting to read. I hope this thread will make it a bit easiers for all the beginners out there, have fun ;)


The first thing you need to find out about your phone is it's DB and CID.

Connect your phone to XS++ to find out it's CID and DB:

Important: The EROM CID ("Flash CID" in SE Tool) is the one that matters!
Don't get confused about the OTP CID.



DB2010/12: These phones can be patched up to CID49. There's no free solution for patching those phones if the CID is higher than CID49. CID can't be downgraded!

DB2020: These phones can only be patched if the CID is 52. You can upgrade to CID52 if necessary.

DB3150: These phones can't be patched for free yet (in fact they can't even be flashed for free at the moment).


You can create an unlocking patch with simox "Remove sim-lock patch generator".
There's also a tutorial on how to upload the patch to your phone:

but you can't unlock with this step you need to flash device with setool

does flashing delete all my files or all the files on the phone memory

Yes. You need to make a backup of your files ( copy to sim-card ).

erm,
u cant copy mp3s, images and the like to a sim card,
copy to memory card(if u have one) or to computer.
You can copy phonebook and sms (not mms) to sim card tho,

i have couple phones. For now i unlocked w580i with this forums' help.
i also unlock moto v3. i am searching and trying to unlock Nokia 6300 and moto krzr k1.

we all await free or at least patch unlock for cid 53. for now though full unlock
is available, but not cheap 10 logs hard to convince customer to spend 40 euros
for unlock

any idea to unlock k320i &k310i for freeee

K310 can be unlocked if EROM CID is 49. K320 cannot be unlocked for free(DB2012 platform)

Should I unlock my phone prior to or after debranding if I buy an unlock code, or does it matter?

well i would all be nice if, a newbie could get the flash files without having to Pay how r people going to learn just by reading Not!

If you buy an unlock code, then why you want to unlock it by patch. The result is the same, except:
- phones unlocked by code will remain unlocked forever,
- phones unlocked by patch will relock after you reflash the MAIN firmware(in this case you apply the unlock patch again, and problem solved).

You should unlock the phone after debranding it, if you unlock it by patch. But if you unlock it by code it doesn't matter.

If my phone was unlocked, and i flash (with XS++) with another FS & MAIN.
It's locked again. Should i unlocked again with the last patch or the new patch??

You need to unlock it with a new patch, generated from the newly flashed MAIN.

Is the k850 now unlockable?

K850 is db3150 platform and no free tools support it.

why do we face difficulties with amd computers during phone flashing. Everyone mention it is not recommended to flash with amd, why, please share your answers.

Does somebody know how to change CID version on K800. My K800 has CID 53.
Is it free or not ?

Please read the posts before posting a question. This has been answered over and over again.

YOU cant changed the CID. Full Stop, not a chance. Not for free.

Unless of course you solder a new chip onto the board.

I posted this on the other forum too, so apologize for duplicating, just not sure which is the right place to post:

Quick question on applying the Simox unlock patch. Do I have to first flash the firmware before applying the patch, or can I just apply the patch. I have read different tutorials and most don't mention having to flash the firmware, but at least one or two say to flash the firmware first. Is this required, if so why? Is it to make sure the firmware matches the patch? If so, do I have to flash both Main and FS? Thanks.

Hi,i'm looking for some help,I've managed to flash my k610i with main and fs used quick access patch did the simlock generator and patched phone with that and did a custom pack aswell put my o2 sim in it all boots up fine then the it says sim innactive any ideas what ive done wrong?cheers
