What are acoustic and camera drivers?

I see these all around the place but I never found anything that explained what they are for and what they do. Can someone explain it to me?

First:

A device driver, or software driver is a computer program allowing higher-level computer programs to interact with a device.

Acoustic drivers - they fix some stuff, like : loudness of music, give clearer sound...
Camera drivers - they are to improve photos made by you - better JPEG quality , JPEG compression...

I just checked the download area and it doesn't seem to have any drivers of any sort (besides usb drivers) for the S500. There are not drivers for this phone?

No camera and acoustic drivers for now.

This is really something that is missing in the TopSony-Database as alternative camera and acoustic drivers really make great improvement.

i have installed many camdrivers for k800 and found out that original se are the best...
acoustic drivers are better but there are so many and i can't tell which are best...

the manual professional cam drivers is verry hard to use in the start but you learn after a while

does this include bluetooth audio as well? some phones (motokrzr) has it, but I noticed that my w580i doesn't have that function.

I can recomend Number1's and Ultimate Camdriver(Withan), they are excelent camdrivers for K800/K810.
I have taken my best pics with these drivers.

As far as acoustic drivers i have found Peters to be best for me, haven't been around for a month or two so i havent updated myself if there are any
changes or newer drivers out there though.

I also suggest the Number1's CamDriver 3.04 is the best driver for all K790 users.
use it, its great. i loved it for the fact that now you can record videos at 21 fps instead of the stock 10/11 fps.

and as somebody said above, i agree there are so many acoustic drivers floating around the interwebs that its hard to decide which one's the best. acoustic drivers are hard to differentiate between caz human ear cant detect much difference when both the drivers have minimal quality difference.
