I have never played with my w580i walkman because I haven't bought memory card yet. But now, when I look at my headphone, I find out that there is no headphone port on this phone. The mic has the same port with charging. But the headphone is the regular headphone port. Do I need an adapter for this headphone. If I do, it's the dumpiest thing I've ever seen.
Didn`t you get User guides ( Getting started ). Look there, what is said.

I'm not sure if I understood your problem, but maybe you need an adaptor. It should came in the phone's box. You could buy one, it's cheap.
well the headphone comes in two pieces...one piece that connects to the phone and the other end is another connector to the earbuds....is that what your asking?
It comes with an adapter so you can plug in a 3.5mm headphone, but I still think they should include a jack right on the phone, then it can be a true walkman.
Yup. This and the (somewhat) flimsy keypad were the biggest disappoints with this particular model. The only reason that I ordered my M2 card was to have the option of using the phone as a portable music player. It arrived before my phone did so I was disappointed after I opened the actual box to find no adapter. It really *should* have been standard - especially with the Walkman brand on it. :(
Actually I was hoping that someone would attempt a mod to add one.
