Deleting Walkman theme with XS++??

I've just recently took the dive into the huge SE community and the tons of things you can do to a SE phone. I'm learning a lot but there's still so much that I don't understand.

My question is, what will happen if you use XS++ V3.1 to delete the Walkman theme on a W580i. Is this even possible?

I am so frustrated with the side lights on the W580i. No matter what theme I chose or color I set the side light to using SE Theme Creator it reverts back to the Walkman theme yellowish/green color whenever I use the Walkman function. This is so annoying. I just want to get rid of it.

If deleting the theme isn't an options because it will disable walkman functionality then are there any other solutions? If I could edit the walkman theme, I could at the very least change the side light color to something more pleasing. I can't though because its protected.

You can delete the original Walkman theme. But I'm not sure this would help.

I'm not really sure what your saying. So your saying your using a flash theme and when you go into Walkman media player the theme reverts back to normal? or the lights at the side?

EDIT: This might only be a problem with the R8BA024 firmware...not confirmed yet tho

Sorry let me clarify. My issue is with the side lights (light effects) on my W580i. If you have the W580i or similar, you'll notice that when in Walkman player mode, the side lights turn a green/yellow color.

Whenever I go into Walkman media player, the theme remains the same, but the side lights change back to the Walkman green/yellow color and will remain that color unless I re-apply the theme.

This doesn't seem to be a problem for the flash themes like Spinnin', splat, or Strobe. I believe this is because these themes constantly change the side light color.

But for regular themes, yes, the side light color is overriden by the Walkman player. It seems that the theme's side light color is being defaulted back to walkman green/yellow whenever the walkman player is used.

I hope that makes a little more sense.

your right never noticed, but yah my w580i does the same thing. I think the option is called illumination when you go in theme creator. A fix would be nice.

Has anyone flashed down from R8BA024 to R6BC002 to see if this problem goes away?

Would there be any problems flashing back to an older firmware? I flashed originally using Wotan. I'm kinda scared to try it

hi, im a theme creator and im having the same problems as you. you would probably be able to downgrade the firmware, but im not gona try it (ive just got the phone) and i realy dont wana brick it like i did with my old phone.

yeah ... same problem here... strobe spinning and splat themes aren't affected of the problem cause of theyr light refresh/change...

i have the r8 firmware too and i heard arund that sony knows the issue and is trying to fix it for the next firmware release...

for the meanwhile we can try fix in those 2 ways :

1- try changing the walkman skin light color to the same as the wanted skin
2- making skins wih continous changing light

but since now i couldn't do none of those 2 options... any help would be great!

NOTE : i also niticed sometimes it reverts back to green/yellow even closing the phone

If you don't mind me asking, where did you hear that Sony Ericsson is working on this issue for the next firmware. This weekend I was planning to flash down from R8BA024 to R6BC002, but if they're coming out with a new one soon, I'll probably wait around for that.

As far as the current solutions, you can flash back to R6BC002 becz according to others, this firmware doesn't have the issue. You should be able to change the sony theme color also by editing the theme and over-writing it with XS++ or other tool.

can we get an update on this, this problem is annoying me

Well, there is some walkman skins that have the other light effect then that green-yellow light!

special walkman skins


- Light Blue Vector - BLUE
- Overhaulin - RED
- Spray Paint - PINK
- Joint Division - GREEN
- Necromancy - RED
- Street Mission - RED

And this is the one that changes light every second. But there is some bug in it but it's working.
