I wanted to debrand my w580i for various reason and I decided to use wotan since it looked simple enough.
I thought I did everything right; however, it no longer works. It said the flash was successful but now when I start it up it displays Sony Ericson and then dies.
Using the wotan client it now says
GDFS: K700
GDFS: Phone Not Recognized
So is my phone a gonner or what?
Edit:and I didn't flash it with the k700 firmware or anything. I selected one of the w580 options.
If you want debrand your phone, you can use XS++3.1 totally free. Now you should use XS++3.1 to flash W580 GDFS back to your phone, then flash W580 MAIN +FS + CUSTomize to it. I think it should work again. W580's GDFS, MAIN, FS you can download from this site.

I used XS++ and found some free downloads and now it's as good as new. So relieving - I was worried I had squandered someones gift to me. But anyway now it's better than new.
I hope wotan gives me a refund...
strange, i successfully did it with wotan for my w580i. Glitch maybe...glad u got it sorted out though
all patched phones work slower don't worry :)
Anyone else had a problem using wotanserver to patch a w580i? I want to get rid of the att crap, but I'd rather not brick a 2 days old phone.
