Backing up W580
Ok lately my w580 has been having some screen conflicts so i called att warranty and there sending me a new one. I didn't really care about if it was under warranty or not and am going to send it back anyway. Before i debrand my phone again i wanted to know if i could back this phone up completly! if so how would i do it? Also if i do make a backup of the att firmware could i flash it to my current phone before sending it in?

Look a full backup you can`t do, but you can save your GDFS.
Look at this tutorial how to do everything with xs++ 3.1.

So does re flashing my gdfs to the phone restore att's original settings? like media mall, and everything else?? Thanks for your help jasmin

No.
GDFS:This is the phones "stash", where all settings and calibration data is stored (this also goes for the firmwares IMEI-resource as well as the SIMlocks). Similar to other brands use of NVRAM (Non-Viotile Random Access Memory).

how do you get the MAIN and FS then from the phone you bought?
I mean, the firmware found in the download section has to come from somewhere!
-
And also how do you backup Cust Pack?
-
You extract it from tpa/preset/custom.
Don't forget to get the games, songs, picture, and other stuff in the phone.
I cannot get the link from SE-NSE because it was under attack.

FAR warning
The easyest way to backup all the stuff in your phone memory and all the systemfiles, is by simply copying all the folders in the FS-manifolder to your computer. Bus watchout while doing that, because my experience with FAR, is that it places the folder you copy to your computer, in the previes folder you copied to your computer, very anoying
