Hi I am hoping someone can help me. I bought a new W580i when I was in England. I live in America and need the phone unlocking here to AT&T network. At the moment it doesn't work at all over here. Every store I call cannot unlock it because the phone is too new and they don't have the software.
What do I do? How can I get it unlocked and working? I really want to use it.
Please Help.
on top sony go to forums>tutorials>and select what program ull be using
it will tell you what u need and how to use the program

Small problem, there is no unlocking code for this model of phone. All the other's are on there but not the W580i....Thanks though! It really is impossible to unlock this phone.
I'm not 100% but as far as I can tell you need to unlock with something like Wotan. I've looked around briefly and that's the general consensus.
In any event using Wotan is not that difficult and the only downside is you have to pony up some $. Still way less than you would pay at an local unlocking store though... just my 2 cents.
Unless anyone else can provide insight on a totally free solution I think you're best bet is Wotan
EDIT: Do a search on this forum. After i posted this i did a quick search to verify my thoughts and I stand corrected. There is a free method.
I saw people talking about unlocking their w580i on the forum but it doesn't say how....

why do u need a unlocking code?
The only way at the moment to unlock a W580i is through davinci and it costs 50 euro's
i unlcoked my w580i
used xs++ 2.0
used firmwares
used a w550 custom pack and everything worked fine so far
later ill get a w580i custom pack when ill be able to download it
You did not unlock it you debranded it.
Theres a cheaper way of unlocking it. Look around. I remember a site listing unlocking for only 13dollars or so
