C905 - Determining the Status of my Phone
So, I started scouring the internet about 4 hours ago to try to figure out what was causing the battery on my c905 to die so quickly (and, more importantly, how to fix it!). I came across this website and something called "Flashing" (which I believe is the same thing as debranding and removing operator *stuff*) and "Firmware" updates. I'm really interested in updating the firmware of my phone especially if I can get the smile shutter and the conversation bubbles, but I have no idea what kind of c905 I really have. I bought the phone off ebay (supposedly brand new) and here is some of the information I can provide:
・ Software Version: 1205-9079 R1BA034 081002 Sony Ericcson
・ When I try to change the internet settings, I see Chinese characters (GRPS)
・ When I tried to update my phone using the official SE website, it says that my firmware is the latest version. I do get YouTube, but I don't have the smile shutter or the conversation bubble function.
So what the heck is my phone and if/how should I go about updating the firmware? (Or... simply letting me know how to fix the RIDICULOUSLY SHORT battery life on my phone will suffice).

first, be confirmed if your phone has been fully unlocked or else you would end up with "Insert Correct Simcard" or need to purchase unlock credit.
If already fully unlocked, you can use the latest generic flashfile which you can get it here at Download section.

Thanks! I'm pretty sure my phone is unlocked because my SIM works perfectly, should I still follow the link you gave?

the two can only be unlocked with Setool box 3 and is permanerte
