Problem with "C" procedure on W850i

Hi all

First post here and a bit of a noob when it comes to this stuff. Very new to it. Seems like you guys have a really good thing going here, informative and helpful! So I'm amped to join.

I have a W850i which I am trying to get going again. Classic symptoms of the White Screen of Death and only the vibratory response when ever you push the power button. Only way to switch it off is to remove the battery.

I've read the tutorial on XS++ and loaded the SEMC USB drivers (with much difficulty). Problem is nothing happens when I press and hold the c button after connecting the USB cable. XS++ times out and nothing happens.

I have had the phone apart and did note the the slider flex ribbon was worn and have ordered a replacement. Could this be the problem? Almost as though the communication is not getting through because of the flex ribbon?

Any help would be much appreciated.

OK, went and tried again as all my atempt were last night. It worked now, don't ask me why, but it did. I got the following log for XS++:

I have the same W850i. I use SEtool2lt to flash the main, fs, and custom files. Seems to have flashed sucessfully but it is blinking red light and white screen when I on the phone. Any idea to get it working again?

I haven't gotten there yet so I couldn't help you. As I said above, I am very new to this all and still don't even know all the jargon. So I think you are a few steps ahead of me my friend! :D

I have a new problem now, I was busy flashing the phone and the battery ran out so it lost connection half way through. I tried to restore the backed up GDFS which it accepted but now it only connects when holding down the 2-5 buttons and then it seems to disconnect half way through the reading of the system information.

Can anyone shed somelight on this please? Has my beloved W850i gone to cellphone heaven?

We can't possibly know until you post an identify log from Setool.

@lestari, those files were for Dylan and "identify log" does not mean "flashing log".

Hi Dylan. Sorry for 'hijacking' your post. I thought you have resolved your problem. But we sure do have a common problem and hope you dont mind sharing.

Thanks hyperion17. I think I am in a different time zone and am slow to response. Here is the identity log and also the 're-flash' that I did today. Symtoms still the same-blinking red light and blinking white screen. it is weird. My phone is W850i but the identity say model K700. i note that there are many with this wrong identity in the forum.
