I can send SMS upto 160 characters.
Is there any way to increase the character limit.

yes...
go to message then settings then text message and find for either long message or max length available......
I have two option
1. Max. available
2. Fit into one msg
at present i am using the max available option but it renders on 160 characters but i havent tried the fit into one msg optopn. as i dont know much about it.
