You can copy them if you put the sim-card in another phone.
I think it's also possible to copy them with the SE pc-suite.
haha, yeah right, how about long names or contact with several phones?
the right solution is Pc-suite, with microsoft outlook, all contact (about 300 for me) is copied in 2-3 min. (bouth ways, from one phone to PC and from PC to other phone)
