enabling flashlight on c905

Hi everybody, just upgraded my w600i to a c905a and then hacked it to get rid of that horrible ATT branding. Best part of my w600i was the flashlight next to the camera. It made a horrible camera flash, but was awesome for everything else a light does. The c905a has a similar light next to the camera, but as far as i can tell it can only be turned on when the camera is active. Is there a way to enable this light otherwise? searches came up dry for me, but if you had better luck i'd love to know. thanks!
