Wifi after debranding C905a
I successfully debranded my C905a. Wifi is now available and the phone "seems" to connect to my home wireless network. The phone detected the wireless network, I entered the WEP key on the phone and connected. The little wireless icon on the phone turned green. However, when I go to the Internet browser and try to hit a URL the phone gives msg "Communication error. Try again, turn off wifi or contract your provider for support."
Connection status on the phone shows signal strength High. One thing I notice that is odd is the IP addr the phone is assigned is not one the wireless router usually assigns to other connected devices such as 192.168.1.xx. The phone IP shows 169.254.96.151 and subnet mask 255.255.0.0. On my computer, when I browse the router setting (Home network), the cell phone does not show up as even being connected on the home network, but the little wireless light is on on the router itself and the cell phone is the only wireless device connected at the time.
Are there some additional setting I need on my phone, Internet Settings, etc in order to connect and use the wifi network? My stepson connected his iPod Touch right away, my router assigned 192.168.1.68 and it can hit the internet with no problem. I tried manually giving the phone 192.168.1.69 but still got same problem.
Any an all help appreciated. I think I have some phone settings missing.

Re: Wifi after debranding C905a
I never could get the a2uploader to recognize my phone, nor SEUS so i ended up using da vinci and it worked, sorta. The debrand worked but I lost the ability to send/recieve texts and the wi-fi connects but doesn't work. I'm still troubleshooting. The only thing I can find is that it should use MediaNet to send/rec texts, email, internet but now MediaNet is gone and I don't know how to config to use other or to add MediaNet back to use it.
Re: Wifi after debranding C905a
Fixed my Communication Error issue by manually filling in the IP address, subnet, gateway and DNS to that of my networks.
Using CDA 1212-2674 and updating via SEUS
sorry if this info has been posted, didnt find an answer before I answered my own question.
