im following this guide
Remove SIM-lock patch generator - Top Sony Forums
to try to unlock my w580. (I'm trying to unlock it using the CID52 guide)
however, when i get to the 'drag and drop the main firmware to setool2lite' step, i'm having trouble.
..where is the file?
I havent created it it along the way and i havent been told to download it.
if i do need to download it then can someone please send me a link because im completely baffled.

You must drag and drop Main ( *.mbn ) on Qamaker.exe ( in folder qamaker )
there is no file to drag and drop though
the only thing in the folder is a readme, a config file and an application.
but when i open the application it brings up a window that looks like DOS =[
yeah, you should have the MAIN firmware file for your phone and need to drag the MAIN (.mbn) file over the executable so that it generate the quick access patch. you can download the MAIN file in the download area of this site. post the identify log from setool and we will help you find your firmware and mention what language you prefer by reading here : Top Sony - Languages Description

this and de-branding a k850 are all ive done.
just to be a little b!tch furthermore.... which firmware do you recommend?
i don't know whether to use generic or european.
after that i should be all set (:
