t700 sleep mode clock

hello! i just bought a t700 couple of days ago.. i have used w880i for 2 years but i dropped it and the microphone and lcd broke. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone could help me..

On the w880i, i'm used to seeing the clock during standby without pressing the volume up or down. I could also see missed call icon and message icon during standby which is really helpful..

For the t700 however, I have to push the volume up and down everytime.. is there any way around it?
