Adding a language to my debranded W715
Hello, I debranded my W715 from Vodafone Germany (CDA 1221-7222) to nordic (CDA 1209-4769). Now I'd like to add the german language which doesn't belong to the nordic custpack. So I copied the language files to /tpa/preset/system/language with the A2Uploader. But still I cannot choose this language when being in Menu -> Settings -> Language -> Phone language. What do I have to do to be able to choose it there?
Please be aware that I'd still like to be able to update my phone via SEUS when a new FW is available.
[Edit] Also I'd like to remove the Vodafone hardware branding. Is it possible to remove it? How? Does SE send me a new label when I "lost" my old one?
Re: Adding a language to my debranded W715
there are loads of tuts on this. search the forum for it
Re: Adding a language to my debranded W715
Seems I'm too dumb to find/recognize them. Can you please point me to them?
[Edit] Please do NOT point me to the "how to add languages to your phone" tut, as this doesn't work, tried several times.
Re: Adding a language to my debranded W715
Hi ragalthar
This is a guide for you or anyone else who wants to use German or other languages that don't appear in the normal firmware:
Firstly I flashed the R1GA030 BALTIC FS and MAIN
Next edited Customize.xml to accept DE and EN languages:
Quote:
<allowed-language>en</allowed-language>
<allowed-language>de</allowed-language>
and uploaded to tpa/preset/custom
Finally I uploaded the W995 language files/T9 for de and en to tpa/system/language , and turned on the phone...everything works, now have W715 with German !!! :D :D
(you need de.lng, de.t9, en.lng, en.t9)
Re: Adding a language to my debranded W715
