W850i Backlight not working

Hi all,

First post - but have been using the site alot for unlocking the wife's 3 mobile phones :)

Thanks in advance - could someone tell me how to fix a problem with her W850i phone?

It works perfectly but the backlight does not work (it did not before the unlocking - so this is not the reason!)

Does this mean the screen is caput? or is this a problem with a simple fix?

unlocking is unlikely to be the problem. Sounds more like a hardware fault. You could try reflashing it, but I doubt whether that would fix it. Still under warranty so get it fixed!!

try replaceing the fexi ribbon costs about 3 pound from ebay but u will have to change the top keypad as well :)

Took it apart and it looks as though the baby put some ribenna in there :)

There is a small resistor that has blown :(

Ah well looks like she will have to keep it as a spare! Its two year old so out of warranty - and the ribenna dont help!
