[SOLVED] Firmware Update Problem in W890i

I just got a new SE W890i 2 days back.
I downloaded and installed Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS).
I tried to check for any software update for my phone, SEUS asked to perform certain steps....
1. Make sure battery is fully charged
2. Connect USB Cable to USB Port on Comp
3. Turn off Phone
4. Remove and insert battery.
5. Press and hold "C" button while connecting cable and keep it pressed
6. Continue holding the C Button.

Here I got stuck at Step 6, which is the confirmation process. My phone just uses data storage mode and gets connected to PC.. but nothing happens with the SEUS. Please Help as i will never be able to Update if i do not find a solution...

press and hold 'c' and connect the cable, don't release the c button untill your pc detects and install driver for SEMC

I did exactly as you said, but there were no results..
I uninstalled my pc suite and uninstalled SEUS.
I reinstalled both these and tried to update the phone again..
but as soon as i pressed C and inserted the cable it automatically went on to the data storage mode. My Pc did not detect anything nor did it install any SEMC drivers..
Instead it just went on to Data storage mode..
Its just a request, if you want me to download any drivers can you post the link please..?

do u have a2 uploader if so post a log up off ur phone to make sure its not a brown cid from unlocking this will stop ur phone from updateing just a thought

what is a2 uploader?? to be frank i m pretty lacking in these terms, can u just be a little more specific as to what u want me to post?

and most phones have a red cid on them but ones with brown ones wont let u do any thing have a read though then when uv got the hang off it post what cid ur phone has it will be in the read out when u use it

hey...., i downloaded the a2 uploader tool.
Since my purpose was to just identify the details of my phone... i clicked identify... it showed me to PRESS C and insert the cable....
I did the same thing.... but the a2 uploader did not find any details.... insted the phone again went on to the data storage mode...
i holded on for like 5 mins... but the a2 uploader just kept searching.....
now can u help me out..??

I finally solved the issue.. actually it was not by pressing "C" button, but by pressing keys "2+5" together..
Once i did that, the PC automatically installed SEMC drivers, i successfully tried to update my phone using SEUS but it said i had version R1FA035 which was the latest..
i also learnt to use the A2 uploader to put flash themes in my W890i...
But thanks riders4sia & philzfog for helping me out and inducing me to go find solution to the problem.. thanks a lot ...
