C905 locked

Hi new on here and after some advice, a friend has a C905 and i want it but its locked via the network, its an o2 phone and im on tmobile?

ive not tried the decoding procedure on here yet but wanted to know if this would work with the phone being locked by the network povider ?

u can use this to unlock it for free but it has had left phones with battry faults ie battrys only last short period off time but lts free
