what file is required to make Chinese input work?
I have TM506
I changed Customize.xml and allowed_language.txt to add zh and zs
I put 5 font files on /tpa/preset/system/fonts, as well as I put zh.lng and zs.lng into /tpa/preset/system/language
I can enable Chinese interface/menu, but Chinese input still doesn't work
with zh/zs checked in input settings, the phone crash when I open up new text message
which file I am still missing?
any clue?
I have extracted W760, C902 fs files

I think you gotta flash it with the files.

it's easier to be said than to be done
there's NO Chinese fw for TM506, even Z780
Re: what file is required to make Chinese input work?
it depends on your main firmware. if you're using china firmware you will be able to type chinese.

To extend this - if you have HK firmware you will get traditional characters and stroke and pinyin input (which is a little strange, since pinyin is not traditionallly used in Cantonese) - the Taiwan firmware gives you traditional characters and a choice of stroke or Zhuhin (bopomofo) input, and the China firmware has simplified characters and stroke/pinyin input.
The DB2020 HK firmware has both traditional and simplified Chinese in it - although this appears to be only for display, and the input methods are just traditional (hk).
