w850i successfully unsuccessfull

Hey Guys

I am a new techbee so ignore my details. Here is a puzzle. I read for 3 days continuosly before i flashed this w850i. I had the same bloody white screen and those red lights blinking up.

After going through hundreds of threads, I realised noone is sure where the problem is. Half believes that this could be Hardware trouble, but I already brought it back from the repair man who checked it properly and tried the new pcb board and lcd screen but in vain. So I BELIEVED THE OTHER HALVES (SOFTWARE TROUBLE). Decided to give it a full go.

Before going any further, let me say this.

1. XS++ (any version) didnt work for me.

Protocol Version: 3.1........... That is all what it could tell me.

2. SEUS couldnt recognise the phone.. """IDENTIFICATION FAILED......"""""

3. I am in Australia and use this phone here but it was actually bought in India. Why I said that is because most of the users wont be happy to see the Custom pack, FS and MAIN I used. I tried to be reasonable but couldnt get more than two or three files of each for this model.

JUST ADDING FEW MORE BITS..

SETOOL recognises my phone as K700 now not W850i anymore... I must have used the wrong flash files... Can someone help me with the right ones plz....


At Akshays Webspace, i read that this could be EROM trouble. As per suggestion, I clicked on UNLOCK/REPAIR button at SETOOL.... Following is the log but end of the day the story is ..... UNSUCCESSFULL

Mate you might want to remove your IMEI number from there

change flexi ribbon or top key pad it is a hardwere fault when it shows as a k700

Hi Philzfog, I dont mind it accepting an unusual trouble but this recognition trouble wasnt there before I flashed... It recognised it K700 after flashing only..

pm me ur msn and i will see what i can do but i do think it is the flexi ribbon though from the pcb to the lcd

I also had a K800i which was showing up as a K700 while it had the white screen but once the main,fs and custom pack had been successfully flashed and the phone was fully functional again it showed back up as a K800i.

It might be worth trying to reflash it again using a different software version to see if it makes a difference.

Hi c-scaff.. even I want to flash again but I want to get the right files for FS, Main and Custom.... I am waiting if someone can get me the exact ones.. Phone was bought in India but I had been using it in Australia for the last 2 yrs.

Hi thisisamar, the files you are using seem fine but instead of using R1KG001 try using different main and fs files like R1KC001_RED52 and also make sure the connections on your phone and the cable are clean and making a good contact and that your battery is fully charged before flashing the phone.

Thanks but wont this affect the phone... I mean that would be the different FS and MAIN.. but i can try this... Can you help me with the exact MAIN,FS and Custom Pack.. sorry if this bothers a lot.

The battery wasnt fully charged.. Indeed it must not be more than 20% charged when i flashed but still I went ahead because I knew that its enough to take the whole flashing process.. Is there any other reason why it must be fully charged apart from the concern that it may die during flashing
