Broken W580i
Hia,
My friend has a W580i mobile phone. he was just round my house and we were trying out a java program from my phone called bt_info that basically lets you control another persons phone via bluetooth.
The program is in a different language but I was trying it out and we were having fun trying out the different things as I was controlling his phone via bluetooth.
Now while I was doing one thing he decided to turn off his phone. Now when he turn it back on it wont load. It just says "please wait". His phone is, software-wise, as new. I.E, he hasn't put any new firmware or hacks on it. Also I tried plugging it into the computer when its turned of and it just does just do as normal- asks if you want to do file transfer mode and then loads and displays the connected to computer screen and then i can see the memory card on my computer. However i still can't get through to the actual phone. I have tried taking out and replacing the battery.
I've suggested contacting customer support to try to get it fixed by Sony Ericsson, which he is considering, and also, as I've just successfully updated my K530i, I've said that I could just re-flash his phone with some firmware, and it wouldn't break as its always restorable. I am right about this, right?
So can anyone think of any other way to fix it and does anybody know what is wrong with it?
By the way I've heard about a flashing red C button on this phone on other peoples phones that wont start up but there is no flashing red C button on this the only symptom is that it won't completely start up it just says "Please Wait".
Thank you
Eddie
