video cam beep w580i
im looking for a way to silence the beep for the video recording feature of the w580i.
for one i have read several things i will share here.
reportedly does not work:
-just deleting the video.3gp file
-replacing it with a text file with the 3gp extension
-putting the phone in silent mode (with my firmware)
-silent mp3 converted to 3gp reportedly doesn't work.
what reportedly DOES work
replacing the 3GP with a playable silent/blank 3GP file in the proper format
patching the firmware (seems much more complex than just replacing the file)
the thing is i dont want to go though all the trouble of patching some FS files or firmware after i already have my phone 99% of the way i want it
another thing is i want to just replace the file with a working tested silent/blank .3GP however i do not know how to make one, and the people who claim to have been able to solve the problem via this method will not upload the file they used and no one will tell how to make one. (why wouldn't they help?) many people are asking how to make this file and no one has answered and i would just like a definitive answer for once
so if someone has please upload/share
if someone knows how PLEASE tell/share.
again this is for the W580i so please stick to this topic im not interested in other models.
thank you in advanced for some help

Re: video cam beep w580i
very nice :D this worked perfect. i suppose it could be used to silence anything else also just by changing the file name and replacing the ones on the phone.

Re: video cam beep w580i
one question, is there a way to shorten the length of the file? im not sure but it seems the file is one second long and when i press record it takes a second to start recording like it goes blank for one second then record is it associated with the file length? just curious. im so glad to find this SIMPLE fix.
now to hammer out the side lighting bug completely.
