I’m having trouble getting applications (XS++ 3.1 and sTool2lt) to recognize my phone W950i or read the plash, I have used the same applications for my other Sony Eriksson k800i with no problem so I know there is no problem with the USB or the USB driver, PC does detect new device but not the application, please advice.

Instead of holding the C button try holding 2+5 buttons together and see if this method works.
double check usb drivers for the new phone and also try pulling out the battery before pluging in the phone.
T700 also have the same problem, I don't know how to solve it.
w950i USB drivers are different to k800i USB drivers. so you'll have to download the w950i
Are you using Vista OS?
