Noob User trying to debrand / unlock SE W850i

Hi guys,

Sorry, but I have looked, and am having a little difficulty in understanding what I need to do after obtaining the software I have.

I now have XS++, SETOOLS v1.11, and have read the GDFS, and got the .bim file, but even though I have read the different threads, at this point, what do I do next? I want to make the phone factory default and unbranded from UK o2, and then unlock to have simlock removed, please help?!

I would appreciate any help you can offer, but please, n o flaming - we were all noobs once eh?

**My phone (Ihave figured out) id a DB2020 CID 52 so I understand it can be patched?

You need to download the relevant firmware from the downloads section

you need firmware and USb drivers, but i gathered you already have that cause you managed to connect you phone to XS++. firmware: dont know what lanuguages you want, buti gather form the Uk hint...all you want is english? W850_R1JG001_FS_EUROPE_5_RED52 and W850_R1JG001_FS_S_E_EUROPE_RED52. just double check if you happy with those. also you can use any cust pack that is designed for the W850, so you can just use the default one on XS++ itself.

To unbrand your phone use this tutorial XS++ 3.1 Guide-Flashing, Customizing, Recovering - Top Sony Forums and for that use this 3 files :

MAIN: W850_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_CY_RED52
FS: W850_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_5_RED52 and
CUSTPACK: HB1-06_Gen_CDA102568_14_R5A_GENERIC_EUROPE_5


and for unlocking use this tutorial Remove SIM-lock patch generator - Top Sony Forums and follow guide for DB2020 CID52 and that is all

I have K800 and was branded to vodafone ( simobil ) and I could use mp3 as ringtone.

Yes, you can use mp3 as ringtone after debranding.

i downloaded RLKG001 and it won't update my firmware: ( Failed sending flashblock 1. Returnvalue 0xD0022D00 ) what do i do now?

You're trying to flash wrong CID firmware.
