Dark screen after unlocking K800

Hello everyone

My K800 was unlocked by some guy in a mobile shop while I was on holiday. He did unlock it without losing any of my data. The next day i realized that the screen light wont turn on when i press any button on the keypad. It stays dark till about 30 seconds before it turns its screen light on. Also when I receive a phone call the screen is on but no light at all; in order to see who is calling; you have to look at from very very close which is very annoying. I have looked at the screen light level in the setting and it sets to the highest. Every else on the phones is working fine. By time I found the problem I was back from my holiday so I couldnt take it back to the shop.

Now, Could anyone PLEASE PLEASE give me a solution. anyone who had this problem and got it fixed. any forum link or software that help. I have lots of phone numbers, sms, games (the games are copy right protected files which can not copy, send or backup) which i dont want to lose.

I found and downloaded XS++ 3.1 and setool2liteV1.11

Well, you can try to flash your phone but probably you will lose your unlock (unless it was a permanent unlock which I doubt).

If you flash to latest firmware, you can see if it is a bug or something with that firmware.

But still, if you flash it and lose the unlock, we can help you unlock it with the same tools you use to flash.

If I flash my phone; will I lose all the data on the phone?

Can't it be fixed by updating or upgrading the firmware?

If you flash the MAIN firmware only, all your data will remain. And the flashing probably will solve the problem if it is caused by software problem.

Ok. Can you please give me a forum or site link that explain how to flash the K800 MAIN firmware ONLY using XS++ 3.1 or setool2liteV1.11 (which software is better to use?)

Well, actually it is a matter of taste.
Here is a flashing tutorial using SETool2 Lite: Flash your phone using SETool 2 Lite. In 2. Flash your phone using SETool 2 Lite section, in Step 3 select only the MAIN firmware and skip Step 4.

Simox...thanks for the link. Do I have to flash my phone with the same firmware version that I am on or can I use a different version (latest version). I have read some where that the main firmware and file system version must be same but i dont know if this applies to when someone wants to flash only the main firmware.

errh! why dont you just take the phone back and tell hthe shop the problem and tell them to fix it. next, my phone had a similar problem and i did a full flash and the problem is sorted, so most likely yours will too. i suggest full flash. you can back up your phone messages and contact with a program called 'my phone explorer'. good luck
