Hi! There i know i should have read the tutorials before doing anything, and that is exactly what i did i followed all the tutorials to sim unlock my W810i but when i created and applied the unlock patch to my phone using the Setool2 and simlockpatchgenerator the phone is locked or bricked. Before doing anything i also created a backup of my phone using XS++.
NOW THIS MESSAGE IS APPEARING ON MY PHONE WHEN I TURN IT ON

"Configuration error. Please contact your network
operator or service center."


I cannot contact them because i recently changed my phone service.
Your help is greatly appreciated thanks again for helping out a kid.

P.S. i need the phone before next Wednesday because i'm off to college.

If you do a search here (or on the net), you'll find that the error shows up because you did not flash a Customization Pack (custpack).

Pick a proper customization pack and flash it.

remember you need to check if the pack has the language you need, or want, whatever the case might be.

You must finalize your phone:

Finalization = Completing flashing operations and storing basic settings that phone needs to properly operate [i.e. security certificates, (and this is why phone displays "configuration error" if it is not properly done)].

Firmware has two parts:
1. FS: It contains languages, images, sounds, animations, settings, etc. Anything that isn't pure software.
2. Main: It contains the software.

Note: MAIN and FS HAVE to be the same software version

Customization has to be same region as FS, in this case
FS = EU5 (EUROPE_5)
Customization =CDA102338/50 ( EUROPE_5 Sunrise Switzerland)

As above users have said, you need to finalize phone by flashing appropriate cust pack.

Thanks again for replying everyone. Can someone give me directions to download the file pack from the download sections the phone is cingular in USA i can't check the CID anymore cause its not connecting to XS++ ot the stelltool.

The custpack is the same for CID 49 or 50. You need to use the custpack according with the FS you flashed:for example, if you used W810_R4ED001_FS_AMERICA_1_RED49 , you must flash W810_CDA102555_106_R2A_Generic_AMERICA_1 , if you used W810_R4ED001_FS_EUROPE_1_RED49, you must flash W810_CDA102555_10_R2A_Generic_EUROPE_1

the phone is not connecting to any of the tools by holding C and connecting the cable how do i upload the custom pack on the phone now.

Change usb ports and then tried to connect.
