S500i firmware issue, FAR and Mac

Hi guys,

I'm a bit confused as I got a new Sony Ericcson phone, the S500i as my previous Sony Ericcson was stolen.

Great phone but a negative surprise was to find that there is no Italian language option on this phone while there was on the previous one.

I'm in Melbourne and this is the most multicutlural city in Australia and Italian is one of the most spoken languages.

So is quite disappointing to find out that my phone has no Italian language.

I was told I could find a firmware update to solve this issue or use a program called FAR to access the phone and modify it myself.

The thing is that I'm an a Mac and not sure if FAR is for Macs too.

Why is it so difficult to have an update from Sony Ericcson?

What you said is true, and your best of with a Windows OS.

You can flash the firmwire with one of the EUROPE's that contains italian.

ATM there is flashing support for MAC, use windows to flash your phone to European firmware.You can use XS++ or SE tool Lite for doing so.

Well than start from beginning , first of all read this 2 tutorial ,connect phone with PC (use prog XS++) and when XS++ recognize your phone post log from XS++ here.
