Failed sending flashblock...
My wife's SE w810i got the dreaded WSOD out of no where. Actually she thinks it started flashing a white screen 10 minutes after it was turned off. So, I decided to flash the firmware. I've found several firmwares to try, but the filesystem flash ALWAYs fails at 47. The main has no problem. I've been up and down google and many sites for the past couple days trying to find and answer and I've come up empty. This looks like the place to be so I decided to join because I love message boards and this looks to be the best for SE's. Anyway, I pulled this from the sticky at the top regarding common erros:
It says "Failed sending flashblock xxx. Returnvalue 0x45"
Did you slide your MAIN/FS? If so, make sure that you chose the right header for the firmware. In most cases, go for the highest available header so that you don't leave any blocks out. (-Thanks Mr. Thunderbird!)
My only problem, I don't know what that means. I need a little extra translation. What does it mean by "slide" and by chosing the right "header"? I thought I knew what I was doing, but obviously I don't. Below is my log from XS++. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

Your main and FS doesn't match, they MUST be the same version so if you use R4EA031 main-your FS must be R4EA031,not R4ED001
Re: Failed sending flashblock...
Thanks for the reply. I've tried it with the same files names too, but I think I was just desperately trying anything with that last run. I'll go try it again with the same files just to be sure that I didn't dream that up and I'll post that log.

Re: Failed sending flashblock...
try to flash another firmware..
Re: Failed sending flashblock...
@yarddawg7
Try to flash the phone with SETool2 Lite(tutorial: Flash your phone using SETool 2 Lite). If the flashing stops at flashblock 47 again, then try to repair your EROM: REPAIRING EROM GUIDES for most sonyericsson phones.
Maybe it helps...

it still hangs at 47 no matter which EROM file I choose.
Then most probably it is a hardware problem(flash chip died), sorry...

bttt
I found a very similar post to someone that had the same problem:
W810 mess up - Top Sony Forums
It sounds like it is most likely the gdfs. I think I'll give it a try since I really have nothing to lose at this point. Anyway, under Top Sony Forums > Downloads > GDFS, what's the difference between .bin, .gdf, .sbn? In other words, will I need all 3?
