Cant Recover my contacts from my phone explorer v1.6.7

hello every1..
i have this major problem at the sony service center in ghatkopar, mumbai.
i gave my W800i for software upgradation & the professional said he wil backup my contacts in my phone explorer v1.6.7 and thn upgrade the new s/w on my phone.After backupin the data in tht s/w, he upgraded my phone.
the update was sucessful but he cannot get my phonebook back.
i had over 250 contacts & 600 no's in my cel.. all r lost.. does any1 hve any idea wat can b done?? plz help me as soon as poss :confused::confused:

If the backup cannot be restored(but don't understand why), then you cannot do anything to recover the contacts, sorry...

Had the same problem, but instead i did the upgrading myself

What is the error message you get?
Also I have looked at *.mbp backups, and the good news is that it is a simple text file with items like:

So if you have a lot of phone numbers it will last a while, but at least you can restore by hand your contacts...
