hi

iv had a search for info i need and tried what i found but it doesnt seem to work. so i'll ask my question and see if the advise i get is the same as iv been trying.

problem i have is my mate has just given me a w880i, it has the phone lock active and he has forgoten the code. he has changed it from the default. how would i be able to sort this problem?

try to use xs to reset the user code but if it has a cid 53 u will have to pay

thank you for the reply, i downloaded simox SIM-Lock remover but it wouldnt work, how do you know what CID i have

download xs from download area and post the log you got from XS here

Hi mate, I stumbled upon your thread. I have a sony ericsson that i unlocked today!
it's a w880i just like yours and it's CID 53. It's bloody hard to unlock but you can do it if you use the right tools and the right guide. but for now you should download xs++ to check what CID the phone is. just download any xs++ that supports your phone and check it right away eh? I hope you installed the USB drivers so that the program can connect to your phone! the drivers that came with your phone works as well.
to connect the the phone to xs++, open the program xs++ choose your phone on the drop down menu, select w880 (same as w880i), turn of your phone (if you havent already) take the sim card out, take the battery out, insert the battery again. (DONT TURN ON THE PHONE), hold the "2" button down, insert the USB cable that came with your phone. And xs++ should recognize your phone right away.
(note that this step taking the battery out and in again is normal to make the phone able to connect to the computer software)

iv downloaded the xs v3.2, i click connect it then says connect phone and press c but i press 2? it then says communication failed

thank you to all, the things i down load are different to those in the above tutorials. i'll get some screen shots up. just to clear it up do i have to do all 3 of the above turorials to remove the phone lock code? i bet your all laughing thinking this is easy but im new to this lol. give me a phone that needs taking apart and i can do that easy, replace screens and that no worries but this is new ball game to me :)
