Can you tell me, what tool can apply vkp patches to DB2020 phones?

By the way, I found already the db2020 SIM-lock ckecker routines, and made a generic patch for DB2020 firmwares. But I will not relase the new version until I test it. For this I need at least a few working "unlock" patches for db2020 phones, because I don't want to brick your phones with bad patches :D

Simox! What wold be when you patch teh main.MBN file and after then flash the phone with the patched main.mbn??? so you don't need free sw to patch cid 50,51,52... Can this method work??

Well, to patch the MAIN firmware we need to know how to update the checksums in header. In CID49 (and lower CIDs) header there is one checksum byte per flash block. The formula is known, and there is a tool for this(GFlash). But in cid50,51,52 firmware files for each flash block there are 20 checksum bytes = huge protection, so I don't think that anyone will figure it out soon the algorithm...

In short currently is impossible...

Ok thanks for the info! It's clear. Hard to patch the fw offline.
So we have to wait for a free software what can apply the VKP patch in higher CID phones. Maybe phone XS will do in the future.

It is possible to support DB2000 platform, but not worth making it, because you need a service cable to apply the patch, and if you have a service cable you can do a GDFS(permanent) unlock with SEMCTool cracked for example.

Afzaal™: It works with DB2010/2012 CID49/50/51/52 but at the moment you can apply the generatred patches to DB2010 CID49 only...
