Post Successful Debranding W580i (small tutorial)

I figured I would add my experiences with flashing the firmware of my Canadian W580i phone on Rogers. I started out a complete noob.

    1. Do lots of research. I used topsony and SE-NSE Forums. There is tons of information out there and tons of people doing the same thing.
Follow this guide, its a good one:
    http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=16148

Here is another great tutorial for using XS++
    http://http://www.topsony.com/forum/...ead.php?t=6671

    2. Download XS++ (for the free method).

    3. Run the GDFS in XS++ (backup your firmware).

    4. Find the firmware and custom files. this part took the longest, if you search hard enough, you will find them. I used this site (its up and down) and searched forums:
    http://WWW.IPROTEBE.CZ

    5. Follow this guide again:
    http://forums.se-nse.net/index.php?showtopic=16148

It's that easy. The W580i was not in the customization part of XS++ v3.0 (now at v3.1), so i had to download a custom pack and move the files over myself. Still pretty easy, click and drag...

NOTE: If you get an error when you turn your phone on after flashing, you probably didn't apply the custom files. (dont worry i did it too)

    Hit the Thanks button! :D

Nice guide :D. Backup GDFS and debranding in one :D... Anyway the GDFS procedure is needed only if you screw up the phone...Flashing MAIn and FS only can do the same, but that way, you haven't the option to make misstake :)

ummm, you will have to search the forum for people that have uploaded their files in threads. The site was up about a week ago...

oj3408, i am maybe a little late but do you have the drivers installed? just plug your phone via usb in, without holding the c button...it should be autodetected and the drivers should install themselves...
