Just drag'n'drop the .mbn file on main2row .exe file

I used main2raw and SEfstool4 to do mine. Make sure you have a FS file with *.fbn extension otherwise it won't work. If the drag and drop method doesn't work, which it didn't work for me because I have a DB2020 phone, try this method courtesy of vpraveenis

1. download MAIN2RAW and SEFSTOOL4.. they are available at many places
2. extract them in some temp folder, i.e. C:\w580i\
3. rename (if you like) the fbn file for easy-typing purposes only, i.e. W580i.fbn.. this is the FS file that you want to extract.
4. go to MSDOS (type cmd) and go to temp folder (type cd\w580i)
5. type main2raw <name of .fbn file> 2020, i.e main2raw W581i.fbn 2020... If your phone is not DB2020 type the DB type of your phone.
6. It will tell you press enter to quit main2raw after finishing. It has now created a file W580i.RAW.
7. type sefstool4 <name of raw file> 2020 , i.e sefstool4 W580i.RAW 2020
8. sefstool now created a folder with all standard GENERIC files. Browse them to find your original file."

I advise to use BABE2RAW - the modifed version of the program main2raw.
Besides converting shows data about an firmware: number of blocks, CID, the version header's, colour of firmware, a platform and BASE the address.

You don't have to type in cmd.exe

Just "drag and drop" in main2raw.exe.
It works for me.

There is other way to extract the firmware.

1. Get any program that can extract firmware to .raw and "sefstool4.exe"
2. Make the new folder to put the programs like MAIN2RAW and SEFStool4.
3. Copy the cmd.exe from c:/windows/system32/ to the new folder.
4. Convert FS to .raw
5. Open cmd.exe and type "sefstool4.exe <FS name>.raw" then press enter.
6. You got the extracted FS!

It is my understanding ther is no way to extract the MAIN file directly, though I could be wrong. You can use FAR to download files individually, though I'm not sure thats what you are looking for.

What exactly do you want to do with your MAIN file that you need it extracted?
