my friend wants me to debrand her k800i, i have XS++ v1.0 and i know how to use it. she wants me to get her "normal" sony ericsoon icons not vodafone.... can i replace vodafone icons by flahing the right factory firmware and fs, or do i need to do something eles

First of all you need to get a newer XS++. 1.0 can't flash the K800. Get XS++ 1.6.8 or 2.0 and flash a generic firmware to your phone. Flash MAIN, FS and upload a custpack (finalize).

I'm almost sure this can't work, (the only way I know to change cid using usb cable is to update your f/w via SEUS , you can then debrand it using these 3 files)

Oh, btw, if you have unlocked your phone before updating, SEUS will recognize that from you current CDA, and will set simlock back, so be carefull!

You should back up the GDFS with setoolite as well. The GDFS usually contains the information for the sim-lock so if it does get locked again, you can reflash the GDFS

The Sp Lock dont depend only on GDFS in db2020 phones it depend on firmwares that's why we use patched firmware to unlock this new phones type and it's not recommanded to touch the gdfs for now .

better use firmware with same CID on phone choose the generic one to have debranded phone and use any tool (SEtool, Cruiser, ...) to unlock 49 or 51 phones .and now it's possible to use furious gold with latest update to unlock too :D

for 52 use Davinci to unlock.

Sorry if there was an misunderstanding but i said back-up. If he doesn't back-up his GDFS, he'll have a lot of trouble recovering his phone if it does screw up. I also did mention that it is usually contained in the GDFS, not always.

furthermore, if your going to patch the firmware with an generic one, the "patched" firmware will be gone anyways.

So trust me on this one, and back-up your GDFS just in case anything happens. There's plenty of guides online here on how to back-up the GDFS and you're also not writing ON the GDFS; you're just copying it from the phone.
