Greetings people.

I just downloaded the new version 4.0, and the "basic mode" is a really easy and fast way for anyone to make a new theme without complications. The "advanced" mode has some really nice improvements, but so far I have only played with "basic".

All you do is select a base color from an infinite color wheel, and Themes Creator will fill in all subsequent menu elements with similar (but contrasting) colors based on your initial choice.

But you can also select a "style". Selecting a style will add outlines and/or fades to the colors you selected. It will look like a graphical theme made by Sony, not just a bunch of flat colors.

The phone model is selected from a drop-down list in the upper-right corner, not a large graphical menu like the old version. Here is a speedy run-through. Other options are present, but this is all that is necessary after selecting the phone model:

Note:

1. You can make a theme in basic mode, then switch to advanced if you want to do some minor tweaks.

2. The "basic" mode can have some problems if you try to force a completely monochromatic theme (literally black + 1 color, no white/gray) by messing with individual settings. You may have to switch to advanced mode to fix some text/highlights if you try to remove all other colors.

3. Basic mode may act goofy if you try to use it on an existing theme (some colors/graphics won't change).

4. Basic mode can include wallpaper and a couple background images (depending on the phone model), but they must be correctly re-sized by the user. Themes Creator does not yet do this automatically.
