Hi, I have just patch unlocked my Sony Ericsson K530i.
Do to this I first applied the quick patching patch.
Then I used Simox's unlocking patch generator to create an unlocking patch and then put it on my phone using the quick patch option in SETool2Lite.
To do all this I used the R6BC002 firmware because this is the firmware on my phone.
Now I've been thinking about putting other various patches on my phone but the only patches i can find for K530i say they need to be applied on R8BB001 firmware. Am I right in thinking that I MUST upgrade my phone to that firmware before I an use these patches?
And if so, how would I go about putting this firmware on?(So that I can keep my phone unlocked)
Would I simply need to install it in SETool2Lite by adding it (and the FS file(?)) in the files box and pressing flash?
OR
Would I simply do the same process I did before of installing the quick patching patch but this time using the new firmware, then would I need to apply the unlocking patch again(This time using the new firmware).
Also I've heard that you need to update the FS Firmware as well as the MAIN in order for it to work. How would I go about doing this?
Also on a side note, I was thinking about debranding my phone as although it's unlocked now, it's still got loads of annoying Vodafone things all over the place.
I've heard that do this you simply need to put a new firmware on the phone (MAIN and TS), so would this be included in upgrading the firmware as I was mentioning previously.
Also, and I suppose this question is included in what I was talking about previously, if I debrand my phone (supposedly by putting firmware on it), will it still be SIM unlocked, or will I have to do all the SIM unlocking thing again (this time with this new firmware).
Thankyou in advance for your help.
Eddie
