    Talking How to unbricked my P1!

    Hey guys..... WOW.. my first thread ever... n that also abt unbricking P1i.... Nice

    I had bricked my brand new barely 2 months P1i during restoring my back-up using Sony PC Suite. The phone would not boot but had the back light on and so were the keypad light. Thats it.. it waz bricked.
    Then after lots of research (Google) i had done a hybrid of them....

    First you need to download XS++ from here..

    http://www.se-nse.net/gbrooks3/XS++/download.php

    Then download the SEUS from the official sony web coz it is the latest....

    Download the P1i ressurection file from here.....

    http://www.se-nse.net/gbrooks3/XS++%20Dev/P1_CCPU.zip

    After you have XS++, Ressurection file, SEUS, you are ready to unbrick your phone..:)

    Open XS++ :
    i) tick smartphone connect
    ii) press connect
    iii) remove your SIM card, remove and re-insert ur battery after 2 sec.
    iv) connect the USB cable to P1i while holding "C" button.
    v) go to flash section
    vi) load the P1i CCPU.zip file under smartphone flashing section, DO NOT UNZIP THE FILE.
    vii) tick flash CCPU (remember, ONLY TICK CCPU)
    viii) press "flash PDA" and wait for it to finish

    After flashing is done, run the SEUS service by following the instructions on the application.
    Note: if SEUS says u already have the firmware, just press continue anyway.
    After SEUS is done.. you have a brand new P1i!!!.
    you will lose all ur user data though.

    The above procedure is what I did to unbrick my P1i.....
    Hope this helps those in need....Just remember to fully charge your battery before doing the procedure... dont worry if the light is not there during charging coz its charging.. believe me...

    Thanks to se-nse.net, Lowyat.net, and topsony.com

    Enjoy...!!!!:D:D

    Re: How I unbricked my P1i.......

    you can also unbrand the phone using this process but the only thing you must do is that in the xs++ you choose the option of changing the CDA and put a generic one like "generic world 1" and finish the process of this tutorial!

    pd: only unbranding NOT UNLOCKING!

    The thread is going to be sticky so any questions Discussions all about uiq3! - Top Sony Forums in there!!

    Re: How to unbricked my P1!

    1- Perform a back-up of your phone via the PC Suite (or however you prefer), as you are going to wipe all of the phones C drive.
    2-Run the Sony Ericsson Update Service (SEUS), click on the icons matching your phone, when prompted pull the battery out and put it back in, when prompted plug the cable into your phone whilst holding down C (this is either the letter C on the keyboard, the Cancel button or even the @ internet button). Once it’s found your phone it’ll will either prompt you to update the firmware or inform you that you have the latest. Either way, quit SEUS without doing anything else. (This will force your PC to find the drivers required for your phone)
    3-Run XS++, click on the SMARTPHONE CONNECT box, and press Connect. The box on the left will tell you what to do, but it’ll be similar to step 2.

    -Once connected you now need to select the new CDA for your phone:
    W960 - CDA 162032/1
    P1 - CDA 162022/1
    P990 - CDA 162007/1
    M600 - CDA 162011/1
    W950 - CDA 162014/1
    and hit Run Script. (They all have GW1 in the script name, however you can choose any of the others, but I recommend the Generic World 1 scripts)

    5-You can now close XS++, I recommend that you don’t touch anything else in XS++!
    6-Now run SEUS again, this time do the update on your phone. Boot up your phone to the Sony Ericsson or Walkman startup screens
    7-Boot up your phone to the Sony Ericsson or Walkman startup screens. Goodbye Vodafone, Orange or o2
    8-Restore the backup of your phone
    (I do not know a way to download pictures from the Web site and want Iraslani I have tried and been successful:))
