k800 help. -
06-22-2009
Sorry if advertised in wrong section.
Ok i think my k800 is dead, it wouldnt turn on, all i would get is a long flash of red from the infared, and then 5 flashes the 2nd time i try turn it on, SO...
Plugged it in for charging and it gave the long red flash, left it for 6 hours, came back tried to turn it on, and still the long red flash, and 2nd attempt 5 flashes.
I thought it might be the battery, so i bought a newy, chucked it in, and let it be on charge for a good 8 hours, tried turning it on... red flash, then 5 flashes.
Reading up from this very helpful site, following all instructions, downloading XS++ and the USB driver.
Followed these steps:
Quote:
1.Turn off phone.
2. Start XS++ and click Connect.
3. Download -> SEMP_USB_Driver and click Extract Here on Desktop.
Hold "C" on phone and connect with USB cable.
Yet nothing, no prompt for new usb detected...
Please help soon.
Thanks
If this helps, every try i do it properly.

Click on Add button and use lastest Main: K800_R8BF003_Main_Generic.mbn then click Flash, disconnect USB cable, hold C ( or 2 and 5 together instead C ) and again connect USB cable.
After flash on Main -> disconnect USB cable, reinsert battery and turn on phone.

So the only way the phone is connecting, if i leave the battery out, then chuck it in, click idenify or anything like that, pressing and holding 2 and 5 and putting the usb in...
But it occasionally connects...
The phone wont turn on, and when trying to charge the only hint i get is either the long red flash or 5 quick flashes, still wont turn on after a full days charging.

I had this problem with a k800(cid52) of mine. I had a backup of my GDFS though...
I restored backup of GDFS after connecting to XS++ while holding 2+5, after this i had to unplug, take out battery, short the 2 battery pins on the phone (dunno why, maybe it doesnt do anything?),replace battery, plug it in again holding 2+5 then flash main and fs. Unplug, take battery out, put battery back in, plug in holding C and see if XS++ can connect, mine did.
This is what i did and it worked (i had completely dead phone with the blinking ir when i tried to turn it on).
Hope i helped.
