Hi,

I recently bought a K530 on 3 as a PAYG. It was already set to CID53, so i downloaded the d-ultimate unlocker and paid 12 euros. Using this i downgraded to CID52 as well as unlocking the phone to any SIM. This was quick and painless :)

I then used XS++ 3.1 to backup the GDFS and flash the firmware across to the W660i.

Being a complete novice and using the excellent guides found on this site i have done this without any problems :)

I now want to upgrade to the latest firmware as ive noticed it eats the battery quicker
than the K530i, and i have a couple of questions:

1) When i use the Sony updater it still says my phone is a K530i, where as plugging it into windows it picks it up as the W660. The phone is definately functioning as a W660.
Why does the sony updater say its a K530 still, even tho ive done FS, MAIN and custom pack ? Can i use the sony updater to update the firmware ?

2) If the answer is no, can i flash the W660 CDI53 firmware onto the phone as ive got a later version of this than the CID52 firmware, using XS++ or would it cause problems ?

3) If the answer to both are no, does this mean im stuck with the firmware ive got in CID52 or is ther another way?

You don't need to upgrade CID52 to 53 and new firmware can't solve your problem with battery.But that problem exist on crossflashed phones known like battery bug and exist script for solving that.

Thanks ixands but your guide doesnt mention a battery patch and also says K530 users: Your phone will now be converted. There is no need for you to continue the guide, which is exactly where im up to ?

yes we can! just flashing again with Firmware K530i

my phone doesn't download the gprs configuration automatically when i put my sim.
i flashed from k530 to w660.
earlier it used to do so.
is t:confused:his because i flashed to w660 and there is a clash in the network server fo identifying my phone?
if i have to request through customer care,there new plans will force me to give daily rentals.
is there a solution for this?

i think u have upload wrong Custom Pack, try to upload Custom Pack with FAR Manager
